19 UNDER TROUT PARK BASEBALL WOOD BAT INVITATIONAL


TOURNAMENT RULES


  1. Player must be 19 years of age on April 30th.

  2. No team will be allowed more than 18 players on their roster. Rosters must be turned in prior to team's first game.

  3. A full concession stand is available to players and spectators. Bathrooms are available and water will be provided to all teams at the Trout Park facility.

  4. Home team is the official scorekeeper but a tournament book may be kept for each game depending on Trout Park Staff availability. Innings pitched will be charted for each team if required. A coin flip will determine the home team. The home team may utilize the third base dugout except if playing a team whose home is Trout Park. Trout Park will supply two new baseballs to begin each game. The home team will supply a third and the visitors a fourth if needed.

  5. All games will be 7 innings but no inning will start after 2:15 hours unless the game is tied. In the event of a tie after the time limit or 7 innings, the next inning will begin with a runner placed on second base to start the inning. The runner will be the last batted out from the previous inning. The time rule is waived in the Championship game.

  6. There is a 10-run slaughter rule after 4 1/2 innings.

  7. In the event of inclement weather, the tournament director will have the option of changing the format of the tournament. This decision will be at the sole discretion of the tournament director.

  8. All umpire decisions are final. Unless otherwise stated, IHSA rules apply. There are no protests allowed.

  9. A game will be forfeited if a team does not have 9 players in uniform within 10 minutes of the start of the game. A team must finish the game with at least 8 players.

  10. IHSA substitution rules apply. An extra hitter will be used if the team has 10 players and a designated hitter is optional. If a player, manager or coach is ejected from the game he will also not participate in the following game.

  11. TOURNAMENT PITCHING RULES IHSA rules apply. Please keep in mind the health and long term career of the player.

  12. No infield practice will be allowed before the game in an effort to keep the tournament on time. This includes even the first game of the day. Pitchers are allowed 8 warm-up pitches in the first inning and then 5 warm-up pitches are allowed for the pitcher if he continues the game in subsequent innings. New pitchers are allowed 8 warm-up pitches when entering a game in progress.

  13. All bats will meet the -3 rule and be BESR approved. (Not applicable if Wood Bat Tournament. Wood bats only, (as defined in OBR) no composites allowed. Wood bats will be for sale at Trout Park at a significant discount.

  14. Each manager will be responsible for the actions of his coaches, players and fans.
ALL MANAGERS

This is a reminder that the 2:15 hour game time rule will be strictly enforced. If the game is tied at the end of 2:15 hours, or after 7 innings, the next inning will start with a player placed on second base. The person occupying second base will be the last batted out from the previous inning. This tie-breaking method will continue each inning until the game is won.

Once again, no inning will start after 2:15 hours. In an effort to complete the tournament, no infield practice is allowed before the game. Players may warm up in either designated warm-up areas or in the outfield. Game times will be strictly enforced. The tie breaker is waived in the Championship game (s).
